Holiday Entertaining & Decorating Ideas

November is flying by, which means the holidays are right around the corner!  Time to stuff ourselves at Thanksgiving, shop Black Friday deals, and enjoy all of the Christmas and New Year festivities!  Holidays are a time when families come together to celebrate.   If you are one of the lucky ones who is hosting your family for the holidays, here are a few holiday entertaining & decorating ideas to help you be a great host!

SET UP – The key to a stress free and relaxed gathering is to set everything up the night before your guests arrive.  This way, the day of the party, you just have to put food and drinks out and are able to mingle without stressing over the details.

BE RESOURCEFUL – If you aren’t big into cooking, but you are a great decorator, use your resources.  Order your main dishes to be delivered to you from a local restaurant/catering service with minimal effort.  Put together a few simple side dishes and your guests can help themselves.

FINAL TOUCHES – Finish off the ambiance of your home by playing soft music, having proper lighting, and having an easy set up for your guests to help themselves to drinks and food!

THEME – To ensure that your home décor looks cohesive, begin with a color theme – red & green, brown & gold, white & silver, etc.  Use these colors throughout your home to display a thoughtfully decorated and aesthetically pleasing look.

SWEETS – Everyone has a sweet tooth!  Add small dishes of candies and sweets throughout your home for your guests to enjoy while they are visiting.

TREES – You love the smell of a real pine tree, but hate the mess and having to throw it at the end of every holiday season…we have an alternative!  Purchase an artificial tree which can be used year after year, and add some fragrant candles throughout your living space that smell like pine trees.  It is the best of both worlds!

These are just a few tips to help make your holidays run smoothly.  If you have other tips, please let us know! or 952-322-8700.
